3D bathymetric charts, chart models, chart art, 3D wood charts...call them what you will, these are a real conversation starter. They are a must for anyone connected to our waters. The underwater contours are shown just like a topographic model would show elevation contours.
The complex and convoluted coastlines and contours are precisely cut from thin Maple plywood with a high power laser beam. With a much lower power setting, the place names and other marine features are marked on the surface. These components are then carefully "stacked" and glued together (which takes some time) to create the depth feature. Also engraved are features such as towns, rivers, lakes, roads and compass rose. A locally sourced frame completes the display if desired or order without and frame it yourself to match your home.
The Chart is mounted behind a clear acrylic sheet which can also be laser engraved with images from our collection (see below) for an additional $25.
For further customization, we can engrave with an image from you such as your home or cottage, boat, favorite anchorages, dive sites, fishing spots, etc.
